• • CHICKS WILL NOT BE COURIERED AND ARE FOR PICK UP ONLY FROM OUR GLENBROOK FARM   (please bring a small box shoe box or similar). 
  • Please add number of chicks you would like to order into the shopping cart & select Pick Up as your shipping option
  • Pick up date must be within 1 week of ordering.   Surcharges apply after 1 week old at $1.50 per week per chick.
    •  Please email or text us, if you wish to collect older chicks to discuss what the cost of the birds would be at arranged pick up date.
  • Please include your email and phone number in your order 
  • You must have a suitable heating source to raise these chicks – either a broody hen*, a regulated heat plate or a ceramic/IR lamp.  We sell suitable heat plates and lamps).     We can also advise you of how to build a Brooder box, suitable for them until they are strong enough to thrive outdoors.

Brown Shavers are reliable egg machines and a very common breed in commercial free range egg production.

They have great characters and can make great pets for children to look after.  We can advise you on the appropriate feed, housing and equipment for them for their age. We can also advise you of the council guidelines for urban chicken ownership.

*Broody hen method only suitable for a hen that has been on the brood for at least 18+ days and the chicks at 3-4 days old or younger.
