Stockman’s Friend – Leg Oil 2L

Natural and gentle, Stockmans Friend Leg Oil is a blend of vegetable & fish oils with garlic to help soothe, repair, heal and nourish scaly legs and is also suitable as a comb & wattle dressing.

Scaly Leg Mite is difficult to spot in the early stages. Check for the tell-tale signs of raised scales, which if left untreated will result in crusty, enlarged, rough and lumpy legs. Leg oil suffocates the mites hiding in raised scales.

Scaly leg mites live entirely on the bird and are contagious to birds in the same quarters. They cause extreme irritation as they burrow under the scales and into the skin of the legs ( sometimes the comb and wattles). In severe cases of infestation, the birds find it difficult to walk and feet and legs may become severely deformed. It is important to treat all birds in the flock and then to thoroughly clean out their coop and lay fresh bedding in places where they like to stand.
